Spoofed E-Mail Alert
We have learned that our domain name, "jamsterscam.com", has become a victim of e-mail spoofing. E-mail spoofing is the practice of sending out e-mails (usually spam, phishing, or viruses) in which "the sender address and other parts of the email header are altered to appear as though the email originated from a different source."
In this particular case, the e-mails were sent starting late Sunday August 19, 2007. They all used unique subject lines and sender e-mail addresses, as in "anyname@jamsterscam.com." We are sorry if you were the recipient of one of these and regret that there is nothing we can do to stop it or to identify the offenders. We assure you that we were chosen at random and that any domain name is equally vulnerable to spoofing.
Jamster Scam does not send out e-mails requesting financial information or requesting you to log in to an account requiring a password. If fact, we rarely ever send out e-mails at all. If we do, it is most likely to somone who has requested information from us. If you receive a suspicious e-mail from us, delete it without opening the attached files!
Thank You,
Jamster Scam Editor
